I would like to report a new scam in the UK. It is the Go to Buy Store Scam...

The scam begins with an email sent to your personal email address from the email address gotobuystore@yahoo.com. A guy by the name of Gareth Lynch.. lists all the possible gadgets one can get... blackberry's, playbooks etc... on special that include buy one get one free offers. Gareth will correspond via email with you in very poor english but in a polite and cordial manner... he even will contact you personally and give you the whole story on how the goods will be shipped within 3 to 4 working days with just the addition of shipping costs. There is no trace of a website for this store and the email address is a dead give away..

Unfortunately my sister was not so lucky to realise and arranged to have a blackberry 9780 as well as 2x playbooks shipped to South Africa. Gareth had asked that the money be transferred through Moneygram. R6000.00/$835.00 was transferred and referenced to him. After receipt of the money, he began sending emails requesting that an additional fee of $325 be paid for insurance (according to DHL couriers, insurance is charged at 1% of the total cost of the shipped goods... Gareth was asking for 40% of the total value of the goods being shipped).

There is probably no way we can get the money back.. it is a lot of money to lose in just 10 minutes..

This is one of the emails my sister was sent. The original list of all the stock they sell has been removed from the web.
