Readers must be aware of a new scam targetting GMAIL users which has started circulating. GMAIL will never email you asking you to click on anything. If Google performs upgrades to GMAIL they do it automatically and you don't need to do anything other than log into your email account as normal. Be careful.

The email reads as follows:

Dear Gmail User,

We are informing you about a regular routine maintenace
of our servers. Pls verify your email account by clicking below

Please Update Now. (link removed)

This upgrade process would ensure your Google Account is
stable even after long periods of inactivity.
